X3200- Duct smoke detector

The Ziton X3200 duct probe unit, enables an analogue sensor to monitor the contents of extract ducting, be unaffected by dust and dirt in the air flow and be accessible for maintenance. The Ziton X3200 detector consists of an ABS moulding with clear lid containing upstream and downstream sensing enclosures, wiring terminals, together with an appropriate base for the selected sensor.

Continuous air sampling - Fixing externally to the vertical wall of the duct, the housing supports two sampling probes that penetrate horizontally, into the airflow, through holes cut in to the ducting side. The upstream sampling tube is perforated and its end sealed by an end cap. The downstream tube is shorter and provided with a 40 degree chamfer.

Air is drawn into the sensing enclosures through the upstream probe and is exhausted back into the airflow via the downstream chamber and probe. The Ziton X3200 detector unit enclosure and probes are hermetically sealed, creating a difference in pressure between the upstream and downstream chambers. The air sample is continuously directed through the sensor chamber by a baffle moulded exactly to the sensors profile.

LED alarm indication - To perform correctly the probe should be positioned in a straight run of ducting, at least 6 times the duct width from any bend or branch. Where branch ducts from separate rooms run into a single extract, probe units should always be located on each of the branches in order to avoid smoke from one branch being diluted with clean air from other branches.

Sensors or detectors are fitted into the unit by twist and lock bases and a red LED indicator on the units housing confirms when the detector is in alarm. Terminals are provided for loop or zone wiring and a remote LED connection.
